A Poem about coming out in Lancaster by Sheelagh Houlihan.

I wandered lonely in the crowd,
I wanted to scream and shout really loud.
Be told you silly 19 year old
You too can dance and flutter
beneath the breeze.
Besides, do whatever you please
Continue you’re a star that shines
and twinkles because you’re gay.
Stretch up these are your times.
Beyond the length of Morecambe bay,
there’s thousands of people the same way,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
A poet could not but be gay
in such joyful company.
For on your couch you can lie
with whoever does catch your eye.
Have flesh upon your inner thigh,
Which is bliss with the one you choose.
Then your heart with pleasure fills
and dances with the sapphic thrills.
