By 1921 the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) had sections in 25 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America and Yugoslavia.
The WILPF international Congress was held in July of that year in Vienna. One outcome was the desire to apply pressure to the League of Nations regarding the situation in the Middle East.
