Twenty or so pilgrims from Scotland arrived in Berwick on the evening of 16 June 1926. Later that evening a public meeting was held where the model resolution was passed. As in other towns and villages, Berwick’s name was added to the list of places that had signed up to support the principle of law, not war. Berwick townsfolk kindly provided hospitality for the pilgrims overnight.
