Routes for the Peacemakers’ Pilgrimage

The Hastings pilgrims set off on Saturday 12 June, a week before the mass rally in Hyde Park, having unanimously passed the model resolution. The twenty or so pilgrims lined up behind a band, which played them along the front.
A little girl led the procession holding a staff on which was nailed the word ‘Hastings’ to signify that Hastings had passed the resolution. The procession continued by charabanc to Battle, Robertsbridge and Hurst Green. On Monday 14 June it joined up with the Tunbridge Wells pilgrims.
