An announcement for a meeting on disarmament was published in ‘The Labour Woman.’ The evening meeting would be held at The Queen’s Hall, London, on 13 June 1932 and the speakers would include Viscount Cecil, Miss Maude Royden and Sir Norman Angell. Tickets for the event were priced from 6d to 5s. The meeting was organised in direct response to a letter received from Mr Henderson, a leading Labour politician, who urged the women to follow up their Disarmament Declaration with further action. He added that the success of the Disarmament Conference depended to a large extent on such efforts being made.
