A conference was held at Hollinwood Labour Club in 1928. Representatives from 23 sections of the Advisory Council were present at the morning session, when future plans were discussed, particularly a rally at Southport on 23 June. In the afternoon an audience of 150 delegates and friends attended a lecture on ‘Disarmament,’ given by Mr T. Gillinder of the League of Nations Union.
