In the year between the AGMs in March 1921 and April 1922, some of the leading members of the Lancaster branch of the League of Nations Union (LNU) were promoting the League of Nations in the surrounding area by holding meetings to explain its work and principles in the hope of setting up branches in the outlying villages. One such was at Warton. No evidence so far has been found of a branch being formed in the village, but a meeting in the same year at neighbouring Carnforth eventually led to the formation of a successful branch there by November 1924, which Warton people joined.
