Using Objects to Study the Past

Dr. Mark Nixon delivered a participatory workshop exploring the importance of material culture in the study of history. Mark brought along some of his own objects, such as medallions, and invited participants to bring some of their own historical objects, to encourage reflection and uncovering the history related to the object.

Mark will provided objects relating to 19th Century political dissent, including Irish Home Rule, the 1884 franchise demonstration and Suffragettes.
